Legal Assistants

 

        The lawyers of Barron & Polk, P.L.L.C., work closely with and supervise the following legal assistants of DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy, P.C.:

 

         Linda G. Rivera, CLA has been employed in the legal profession since 1984, and has concentrated her practice in the area of probate litigation since 1998. In March 2002, Linda sat for, and successfully completed, the two-day Certified Legal Assistant examination. The CLA program involves successful completion of a two-day comprehensive examination covering the topics of communications, legal research, ethics, human relations and interviewing techniques, legal terminology, judgment, analytical ability and substantive law. Through both her many years of experience as well as her studies, Linda has become fluent with guardianship, conservatorship, trust, will, exploitation and abuse matters. Linda is active in the National Association of Legal Assistants, the Maricopa County Bar Association Paralegal Division, and the Arizona Paralegal Association.

         Sheila M. Simbro received her Associates Degree in Legal Secretarial Studies from Macomb County Community College in Michigan and completed the Legal Assistant Program from Oakland University. She provides to our clients the skills and knowledge acquired as a result of over 20 years of legal experience in the general area of civil litigation, including corporate, real estate, medical malpractice, and probate law litigation. Since 1996, Sheila has polished her probate law skills related to guardianships and conservatorships, trust litigation, vulnerable adult litigation, and administration and litigation of decedents' estates. Sheila is skilled with litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. Additionally, the broad scope of her background permits her to have the ability to identify and address the myriad of issues and challenges that arise in the context of probate law.
